RADIOHEAD TATTOO??????

Tattoo: Yann Travaille

Montreal based Yann Travaille's work is taking tattooing in a new direction. It's undeniable that he is creating a unique style. I'm not sure that I'd get his work permanently on my body. But I'll definitely post it on this blog. Cool.

New tattoo for Strength – Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse plans to add to her sizeable collection of body art as she believes it will give her strength. Amy believes that having the Native American eagle feather tattooed across her shoulders will help boost her confidence and keep her safe whilst Blake is in jail.
A source said: “Amy already has a Native American feather on her inner arm because it symbolises courage, strength and spirituality but she somehow feels it let her down as she has lost her courage and strength. So she has asked a well-known tattooist in Camden Town, north London, to design a much bigger one for her shoulders. The feather is symbolic to Native Americans of prayers rising to the heavens.”
Amy, whose body art already includes a shirt pocket with the word ‘Blake’s’ on her chest and several etchings of ladies and hearts on her arms, believes the new tattoo will also help her focus on her career.
The source added: “It is a desperate attempt to find strength to deal with her situation, which she knows is spinning out of control”
Whilst hubby turns to God for strength, Winehouse turns to ink. Each to their own I guess.

Sensual Harassment live at Music Hall of Williamsburg

Sensual Harassment
When Brooklyn’s Sensual Harassment hit the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 14, 2010, opening for Delphic, I was very excited to finally hear the band that the blog-0-sphere has been buzzing about for months.  I met lead singer Todd Thomas right before the show and not only was he gracious enough to take a picture with me (but I blew it and didn’t turn the flash on, so it’s blurry), but he also gave me a free 3-track EP!  Thanks on both counts Todd!  Obviously having that sort of experience, you think I’d immediately be spoiled, but as you all know, I leave my mind open, empty (ha!) and turned on to as many new experiences possible before I make a judgment.  Sensual Harassment was awesome!  They took the stage with a thumping dance track that would not be out of place on a Chemical Brothers album and from there it just got better and better.  After each song, the Brooklyn-based trio took turns playing different instruments and it was musical heaven watching the drummer play bass and the keyboard player switch to the drums!  You can download a few tracks to hear their awesomeness for yourself at Sheena Beaston.  Also, if you check out Sensual Harassment’s official site, you can download stems that will enable you to make your own mixes!
Loving the Radiohead Tattoo!
If the above praise for Sensual Harassment doesn’t sway you, look at Todd Thomas’ Radiohead tattoo!  It’s obvious that he has great musical taste and I think it translates perfectly into their live shows!  I think this is definitely a band to watch (and hear), so expect to hear a lot more about them!
