When Brooklyn’s Sensual Harassment hit the stage at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 14, 2010, opening for Delphic, I was very excited to finally hear the band that the blog-0-sphere has been buzzing about for months. I met lead singer Todd Thomas right before the show and not only was he gracious enough to take a picture with me (but I blew it and didn’t turn the flash on, so it’s blurry), but he also gave me a free 3-track EP! Thanks on both counts Todd! Obviously having that sort of experience, you think I’d immediately be spoiled, but as you all know, I leave my mind open, empty (ha!) and turned on to as many new experiences possible before I make a judgment. Sensual Harassment was awesome! They took the stage with a thumping dance track that would not be out of place on a Chemical Brothers album and from there it just got better and better. After each song, the Brooklyn-based trio took turns playing different instruments and it was musical heaven watching the drummer play bass and the keyboard player switch to the drums! You can download a few tracks to hear their awesomeness for yourself at Sheena Beaston. Also, if you check out Sensual Harassment’s official site, you can download stems that will enable you to make your own mixes!
If the above praise for Sensual Harassment doesn’t sway you, look at Todd Thomas’ Radiohead tattoo! It’s obvious that he has great musical taste and I think it translates perfectly into their live shows! I think this is definitely a band to watch (and hear), so expect to hear a lot more about them!
